Pola Bernard, the eldest daughter of Canadian immigrants, was raised in California from the age of seven. Learning English as a second language sparked her love of grammar and story writing. Over the years she’s collected stories and experiences from all of her many travels. Including backpacking across Europe at age 50, and hiking the Camino de Santiago in her sixties.
She’s called the Great Smoky Mountains her home for over 30 years and is a beloved fixture amongst the locals of Townsend, Tennessee. Trapping a bear with a peanut butter sandwich is a story retold over many a campfire. Pola’s deep understanding of nature, animals, and her no-nonsense approach to handling unexpected or difficut situations lends itself well to the magic of her tales.
